On the 6th Day of Christmas (which also happens to be New Years Eve) my true love gave to me…. 6 Geese a Laying and in the spirit of gift giving, here is mine to you. A rather cute funny video of Geese, isn’t youtube amazing for stuff like this.
Now in the spirit of New Years Eve, a new year reflection….
My favourite 2012 song: Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen. As cheesy as it is/was I still love it.
My favourite 2012 film: I haven’t seen as many films this year as usual and I know I have seen some good ones, but the one that really springs to mind is ‘The Perks of Being A Wallflower’ and I still need to read the book!
My Favourite 2012 book: Dorothy Koomson – The Rose Petal Beach. READ IT
My Favourite TV Show: still Grey’s Anatomy. Oh and I also found Castle this year.
What did I write about? Random Blog Post Here
What happened? Olympics London 2012, Jubilee & The Royals are having a baby.
Favourite Moments? Snow Patrol LIVE, James Morrison LIVE, Rhod Gilbert LIVE and being Employee of the Year!
Wherever you are or whatever you are doing this New Year I hope you have a happy one!
Happy New Years Eve!
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
5 Gold Rings
The image above is not my own! I am sure you recognise it. It is the 5 Olympic rings from the opening ceremony of London 2012. You may not have noticed (as if) the Olympics taking over our TV’s this summer or the hype that surrounded the games and London, so let me remind you by showing you this awesome video which I found on youtube.
I’ll be honest, prior to this year I could have taken or left the Olympics. I love the gymnastics and diving but if I missed them I would get over it. This year however I got caught up in the whirlwind that was London 2012. I wanted to watch every event, I became emotional when people won and like most of the UK I now know who Jessica Ennis and Bradley Wiggins are. If only I knew then what I know now I think I would have been far more excited in the run up and I may even have attempted to get tickets.
Another thing I should probably mention is that up until this year I have never thought of myself as a Royalist but after the Jubilee Ceremonies I think I just might be!
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me;
A clip from the Letterman show of winning Bird Callers! People like this fascinate me, are these boys generally good impersonators and if so why are they specifically doing bird calling? Or can they only do bird calling? If it is the latter how on earth do you establish a talent for this? My parents have always been eager for me to dance (ballet – my mum, tap – my dad) or act, or sing, or paint etc etc. Never did Bird Calling or any other type of calling come into play. Hmmm.
Anyways, even if you don’t enjoy this, I mean why would you its bird calling, I hope you can appreciate the talent these guys have and also that it fits into my 12 days of Christmas (sort of).
In other news, I survived IKEA! Mainly because we got there mega early which had another plus point too…. we were up early enough for McDonalds breakfast yummy! The diet starts soon(ish).
See you tomorrow for more festive fun!
Three French Hens is the flavour of the day.
and my treat for you is a blog called Three French Hens Market. I tried in vain to find something like this in England but to no avail. Why we don’t have things like this over here I do not know why? Or maybe we do and I haven’t found anything. Let me know if I am missing out.
The image above is also not my own – but I rather liked it and think it would make a great restaurant logo/image.
Hope you are all having a lovely day, I have done nothing but watch TV and lie on the couch! I kinda feel much better for it too. Tomorrow I take on IKEA! Wish me luck. Oh what Christmas TV are you watching? I am watching Miranda and films.
On the Second Day of Christmas my true love (practical me) gave to me….. two turtle doves.
Here is my take on two turtle doves, a marvellous website for accessories and recycled accessories none the less. I am rather partial to the gloves (black and white spotty) and the shawls. Take a look I am sure you will love it too!
I hope you are all having a lovely Christmas. I got some marvellous presents this year (not that I don’t most years) and I have eaten far too much delicious food. Christmas Eve was spent with the boys family at the pub singing and generally being merry. Christmas Day was all about me and the boy, chilling out opening presents and eating our amazing Christmas Dinner. Today, Boxing Day was spent with my family. Now I am dead beat and am ashamed to admit that at 8.30 I am almost ready for bed.
In the spirit of celebrating I will be giving you a little taste of the internet each day, loosely in keeping with the 12 days of Christmas and today I give you a animal/musical collaboration of the song ’12 days of Christmas’…. enjoy!
See you tomorrow
In my last blog I mentioned that I had a very busy week ahead and I couldn’t have been more right. Its been totally enjoyable too though as I love being as busy as a bee. The most amazing thing happened also. The people who know me, know that I love my job, I love the company I work for and I love the people that work there too. Over the last few years at our Christmas ‘do’ we have awarded people for their hard work and contribution. Three awards are voted for by the staff and two awards are chosen by the Senior Management Team. So on Wednesday night you could imagine my elation at being nominated for Employee of the Year and then imagine my joy when the announced I had won! I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was. Employee of the Year! One happy girl for the rest of the evening, week and coming year. Here is my picture with the Trophy (it was an Oscars Themed Party), the dodgy face paint and outfit was my attempt at fancy dress = the Oscar film being Platoon.
Employee of the Year
Following on from Wednesday, I have been running right up to Christmas getting the last bits of shopping and wrapping presents. My shower broke! So the Boys parents came to fix it and dropped of our Christmas Present and the tidying seems to have been endless. Today though is my last day of doing anything before I really start my Christmas festivities. I will complete my tidying, do the dreaded food shop (ugh!) and shower my family with their gifts. Tomorrow I can then relax and do some preparation for the Christmas Dinner mmmmm.
What are your plans for Christmas?
I will be with family Christmas Eve, a chilled out day with the Boy on Christmas Day (I can’t wait) and then family again on Boxing Day! I am soooooo excited.
I will wish you all a very Merry Christmas now and a Happy New Year and will see you on Boxing Day where my 12 Days of Christmas feature will begin!
