Something for the Weekend

Hello Weekend!  I am so delighted to see you … as no doubt are my lovely readers.

Welcome to my ‘Something for the Weekend’ feature!  I have been wanting to do a feature for the last few months now, but have never known what I wanted to do.  Then last weekend I decided it would be music related (breakthrough).  You see I love music, whether it be new music, old music, feel good music, bed time music, curl up on the sofa and feel sorry for yourself music or even teary music, I just love it.  I often wish I could have my very own soundtrack!  So why not share this music with you lovely people!

Every Friday I will be sharing my ‘something for the weekend’ track – it may be any of the above types of music, you may have listened to it loads already (sometimes thats the nice thing re-finding an old classic), it may be something you have never heard before nevertheless it will be something!  I would love for you to share your thoughts with me or if you think of an artist I might like and should check out then please let me know!

So this is the song (courtesy of youtube) that I will be playing rather loudly this weekend; this song has all the makings of an excellent feel good song, inspiring lyrics, shouting choruses and a guitar – need I say more…

Doing it for Charity

Ok a little later than planned …. but in my defence I did write this on Sunday and then I was reading my book whilst waiting for the pictures, and then I went to the Cinema and now finally 4 days later I remembered to post it!  Enjoy!

Today ladies and gentleman I completed the 10k Fun? Run all in the aid of charity. Last year I trained for the run and completed it in 1 hour 21 mins …. so trying to achieve this again was my aim!  I had my doubters …. in the nicest possible way, I think said doubters were actually motivational doubters, as I am quite a competitive person I was like ‘who won’t do it in the same time??’

I am pleased to tell you that I completed the run in 1 hour 20 mins and 30 something seconds!  I am all for rounding down so I did it in 1 hour 20 mins!  Which by my maths is 1min quicker than last year.  Go me!

My boy was there cheering me on and taking the photos;

Before the run! …. I think that is pretty obvious :)

My work crew before the run! …. it’s these lovely people that keep me sane 9-5

After 1 hour and 20 mins – I am finally across the line!

This is the lovely lady that signed me up …. unfortunately all through the run I wasn’t thankful hehehe!

At home after my run, with a brew waiting and my medal!

Are you proud of me?  I am!

Come and see me tomorrow because I am starting a Friday Feature!  As of yet, I don’t know what to call it so hopefully the God of Words will come to me tonight!
